Professional

It was my absolute privilege to work alongside Eyisha for many years as her headteacher. When I joined the school Eyisha was a classteacher but we quickly promoted her to Key Stage One Leader so that she was able to guide and influence practice throughout, not just Key Stage One, but the whole school.

Eyisha is an exceptional practitioner who is passionate about each and every young person achieving their full potential in a caring, safe, exciting and stimulating way through her innovative ways of delivering the curriculum. She has always had a particular passion for all aspects of SEND and has developed creative pathways to encourage engagement and success with high expectations of her pupils and herself.

Eyisha epitomises ‘life-long learning’ — always striving to develop her knowledge, skills and expertise for the benefit of others. I am thrilled that Eyisha is sharing her talents through this Support Hub. I was fortunate to learn such a lot from Eyisha throughout my time working with her — I am excited about how much she will be able to support and guide in the learning of young people, parents and fellow professionals through CE SEND Support Hub.

Carol began her career as a teaching assistant in 2002. Carol successfully completed her teacher training course in 2006 and then worked as an SEN Teacher for many years. Carol taught Maths in Key Stage 4 and supported students to achieve not only academically but also in securing successful college and employment placements. Carol provided support in the classroom, on residential visits, and during work experience placements.

During the time I knew Carol, she demonstrated herself to be a professional, disciplined and efficient educator. She has gained and continues to gain an extensive understanding of the specialised support needed by students with a variety of learning difficulties or disabilities. Carol went on to become Head of a successful Sixth Form for 10 years and then served as Assistant Head overseeing the upper school.

Parent

My son was lucky enough to have been taught by Eyisha Mohammed for two years at the local special school sixth form in Dunstable and the support given to both my son and the family was second to none. Eyisha’s calm, personal and stress-free approach had a positive impact on him academically and socially, which was amazing.

We certainly will be visiting this new SEND Support Hub in the future. As a parent I feel this will be beneficial for our son for his future career aspirations.

My son requested to take maths lessons with Carol on a private, one-to-one basis, to support his learning. We feel that her high level of expertise, combined with a dedicated focus on his personal progress, provides the ideal environment for supporting his learning.
